April 7th- "National Beer Day"

I am so sorry for my slacking!  It has been about a month since my last "celebration."  I am hoping that my laziness won't get the best of me again!  Anyway I bring my blog back with a pretty good day if you ask anyone (except me that is) to celebrate!  A day to celebrate beer!  I did a little background info and apparently today marks the end of the Prohibition Law.  I for one hate beer.  The smell, the taste, and all the room it takes up in my fridge.  But I do love that my boyfriend makes his own and is a "beer connoisseur."  If there is a beer on the menu, chances are he has tried them all.  So for those of you like him I am sure you appreciate today and are even more happy that you don't need an excuse to tip back a few!  So CHUG...CHUG... CHUG!

March 9th-"Panic Day"

Happy Panic Day everyone!  Any of you who really know me will agree that I could win a gold medal in the Olympics if this were an event.  Yes, that's right I am the queen of panicking.  I don't know what it is but if it can be worried about then I am doing just that.  I actually panic if I am not panicking.  In my defense though, I tend to never get into bad situations or any trouble because of my constant worrying.  I look at that as a very good thing.  So when people make fun of me for being a "hypochondriac" or a "panic Patty" I don't let it bother me because I wouldn't have it any other way.  A little caution and panic never hurt anyone!  So quit with the mellow and freak out a little!  It is Panic Day after all!

March 8th-"Plant a Flower Day"

Well I can tell you one thing is true... I have killed everything I have ever tried growing!  The even more pathetic thing of it is that I actually enjoy gardening.  From tomatoes to carrots I have killed it.  I would rather not admit the fact that I killed a bamboo plant and a cactus.  (Not a joke.)  Hopefully one day I can "blossom" into somewhat of a good grower.  But for now I will just buy flowers at the store and put them in a vase.  I did however buy some pink tulip bulbs, and I am going to attempt growing them.  Keep your fingers crossed everyone!  As for all of you, please do not let me awful planting skills get you down!  Go to the dollar store and buy a pot, some soil, and some seeds...  all it takes is three bucks and you are headed on the path to growth! :]  Good luck!

March 7th-"Be Heard Day"

I'm back!  Sorry to leave you all in the dust but I am back with a reason to celebrate!  This day is great because it is something I am VERY great at, and something that nobody should take advantage of.  We are so lucky to even know what this is like!  So I will celebrate today by telling you things I think you all should know... So here me!
---->I wish people would stop trying to dictate other peoples way of living.  I am Pro Choice and I think everyone should be... this is not only on abortions, but on any decisions that are not yours to make.
LIVE YOUR LIFE
I think everyone needs to realize that who people love, or what people do in their spare time has nothing to do with how your life works.  It always saddens me to see people more upset about gay marriage, or abortion than the fact that kids in Africa can't get clean water or food.  They spend more money trying to help campaigns that limit our rights to Freedom then helping people who REALLY need it.  I could go on and on and on... BUT I will stop here (I apologize for getting so political).  Feel free to celebrate today by "being heard" here!  Say whatever you want!
Have a nice week everyone!

March 4th-"National Dance the Waltz Day"

It's Friday again, and while most people my age will definitely dance tonight at some point, I realize it probably won't be the "Waltz."  However I have learned this dance (being a dancer) and it is very hard to make it look as easy as it does.  If done right you look like you are gliding effortlessly  across the floor and if done wrong you look like a couple in a big fight.  Unfortunately for me I happen to have an extremely uncoordinated boyfriend, and absolutely hates any form of dance  so I won't be doing any kind of dancing tonight!  But don't let that stop you!  Take it back to junior high school dance days and break out some "slow jams."  Have a good night!

March 2nd- A day of birthdays!

Today is all about birthdays!  Reason being that there were over 15 today so I narrowed it down to six of my personal favorites!  Dr. Seuss being an obvious choice for creating some of the most simple yet meaningful poems EVER!  Then we have Elemer Fudd, and Porky Pig who I grew up watching... and I can admit that I still do every now and then.  Next we have the amazing Silly Putty- "Driving mothers crazy since 1950! But we can't forget TIME Magazine which turned 88 years old today!  Last but certainly not least we say Happy Birthday to Jon Bon Jovi.  He may be old but he is still rocking and looking good while doing it!  Happy Birthday everyone!

March 1st-"National Peanut Butter Lover Day" & "Pig Day"

Since I slacked off the last couple days I decided to celebrate twice today!  This was also due to the fact that I had an EXTREMELY hard time deciding between the two!  Peanut butter to me is its own food group, and pigs are my favorite animal!
Peanut butter is so delicious and goes with almost everything... it makes the grossest things taste so good (celery).  I happen to enjoy peanut butter and honey sandwiches the most, along with pairing it with apples or bananas!  I most definitely celebrated Peanut butter day to the fullest and wish everyday could be Peanut Butter day!  If any of you love Tropical Smoothie Cafe you HAVE to try their grilled flat bread with PB, honey, bananas, and granola!  YUM!
As for pigs... what isn't cute about them?  I absolutely love their curly tails and cute little snorting sounds!  Most pigs are smarter than dogs and make better pets than most poodles.  I only wish I could've really celebrated pig day by purchasing one but-
1. My dog would eat it
2. I am waiting for pocket pigs!
What are pocket pigs you ask?  They are the same as teacup chihuahuas!  They aren't available in the US yet but you can bet that when they get here I will have one!  Google them to see just how cute they are!
That's all for today folks!  Have a good week!

February 26th-"International Sword Swallower's Day"

Celebrating something I have never done or never intend to do seems silly, but I have seen it happen so here goes.  The things people try in their spare time never cease to amaze me and sword swallowing is definitely one of those things.  Who in their right mind would ever think that this would be a good idea?!  Maybe "frat boys"??  Or drunken fools back in the 1800's?  Either way today is more about celebrating living on the edge I suppose.  Yes, on the surface it is about sword swallowing and the crazies that do it, but for those of us who consider wearing a new color as a risky move, then today can take on another meaning.  I have a hard enough time swallowing an Advil so that will be how I celebrate National Sword Swallower's Day.  Bye!

February 25th-"Be Quiet Day"

I wish today would have been a more exciting day to celebrate considering it is a Friday...  BUT- I am sick with a mean cold so today was a perfect day to celebrate being quiet.  Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you this is not something I am good at.  Ask my poor mom who is stuck at home with me and she will definitely agree.  I can't help that I have so much to say.  Luckily for me though I have done todays holiday justice and have been pretty quiet (for me at least)!  This is also a good excuse if someone asks you why you are on facebook tonight and not out, just tell them it is quiet day and they should leave you alone!  A little quiet time never did anyone wrong, so relax and enjoy quiet day! You're welcome!

February 24th-"National Tortilla Chip Day"

What a great day!  I am a junk food queen, so any holiday that allows me to indulge is a good holiday.  I am so thankful that I am living today and not 50 years ago, because back in the day the only kind of tortilla chips were plain tortilla chips, and the dipping selections for these plain ol' chips lacked any specialty.  Today you have pretty much hundreds of possibilities to choose from whether it is between brands or flavors you know you will get the exact kind you are wanting.  Even if you choose plain you then have the choice between hundreds of dipping options! What a life!   I must admit that I really enjoy authentic Mexican restaurant chips.  You know, the ones that are loaded with salt and then complimented with homemade salsa. YUM!  As far as chips that you buy at the grocery store go I am partial to "Spicy Nacho Doritos!"  So whether you like the authentic or the generic enjoy a chip today!  Happy tortilla chip day!

February 23rd-"International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day"

This holiday is somewhat close to my heart being that I love my dog!  My dog is a handful though and most of  the time doesn't really deserve a dog biscuit  (any of you who know my dog probably don't understand why I even keep her around).  I still plan on celebrating this day to the fullest considering it is an "international" celebration.  The more I think about it the cooler this holiday becomes...  it gives you an excuse to love your pet even more than you already do and doing so without the judgement of non-dog owners.  Did I mention that my 55lb boxer/lab is sitting on my lap while I type all this??  Pretty ironic.  I am just glad that someone out their has enabled me to spoil my dog and thus giving me an excuse for the day.  With all that said I think it is clear that this day is more about appreciating your dog, and the biscuits that make them happy.  Have a good day everyone!

February 22nd-"Be Humble Day"

So if I was given the choice I would never have done such a "deep" holiday for my first blog celebration, BUT It was this or George Washington's Birthday.  So this is what you are getting!  I would like to say that I am a pretty humble person.  I am humbled every time I read the news, or see anything sad happen to anyone, because frankly-nothing truly awful has ever happened to me.  Sure life can get a little rough but I am always quickly reminded that I am so lucky to live the life that I do.  Next time you find yourself crying about having a bad day at work, you should think about the Chilean miners getting stuck underground for 69 days.  The next time a "snow bird" almost gets you in a car accident think about the roadside bombing in Pakistan that almost killed 3 soldiers yesterday.  Happy "Be Humble Day" everybody!

FIRST POST!

Hello there!  First off I am Taylor, and I have wanted to blog for a long time now... the only problem was that I didn't have much to blog.  I am a 21 year old, sort of student, and a barista.  Pretty typical, and sadly not at all interesting.  I am not married (although I am in a happy relationship of four years now) and I really am just living a normal life.  So if I did a blog about my life it would be,
1. Absolutely boring
2. Not very eventful
3. Just like every other blog
BUT... I have finally brewed quite the nifty idea for a blog and with much deliberation I bring you...
"EVERYDAY'S A HOLIDAY"
Cheesy right?  Please don't let the title fool you!  I am no motivational speaker, or a God heals all type of person I am however kind of clever and everyday someone, somewhere is celebrating something!  Look at my blog to open your eyes, have a good laugh, and have an excuse to have a party, or a happy hour.  Everyday truly is a day to celebrate not just because you are living, but because its "National Bunsen Burner Day," or "Defy Superstition Day!"

With all that said welcome, and enjoy! :]
